One thing history has taught us: the Jewish people are resilient.
On October 7, the dark evil of Sinwar's Hamas penetrated the everyday lives of Israelis, changing them forever. Yet, in the midst of war, civil unrest and growing antisemitism, Israelis are finding ways to continue on with their lives. While many are serving and risking their lives in the IDF, their friends and families strive to carry on with everyday life. They continue to go to work, attend school, parent their children, volunteer and look for ways to 'love their neighbor'.
I would like to share a story of one young woman who is shining her light
during these dark days. Tali, my long time friend, wanted/needed to do something for the victims of October 7, and to honor them in some way. She is like so many others who want to reach out and 'bear one another's burdens'. Being an artist, she decided that she would use her painting to express her care, her grief and her love for the victims.
"Me, being a woman by myself, I could relate to the hostages in a way that men cannot relate. I am myself very sensitive, and wars and army and weapons scare me to death. I couldn't completely feel what they felt... but I tried to reflect and deliver my sadness and grief towards the women who were shockingly raped and killed. No words can describe the horror and terror they went through! If the men who were kidnapped were scared .. how much more the innocent girls. My heart goes to the families." ~Tali
